Here at Hoopla Kids, we specialise in quality, ethically produced kids' clothing that makes the world a happier place. All of our clothing is made from GOTS-certified organic cotton or recycled synthetics and is produced in a more sustainable, respectful, and fairer system.Ā

Established in 2012, Hoopla Kids is one of the original local retailers to bring colourful European organic cotton clothing to New Zealand. Since then, our small operation has grown steadily, offering a range of quality brands catering to babies, children and even adults.
Sustainability is at the heart of Hoopla Kids, both in our business operations and our homes. We believe in buying well and buying less as an effective way to tread gently on the earth - especially with clothing in this fast-fashion world.
In 2019, we launched our clothing buy-back programme, Re-loved, as a way to keep these well-made clothes in action for longer. As a further commitment to the longevity of our products, we developed Fix It Kits - a range of easy iron-on patches for clothing repair.

2025 Brings a New Owner...
Hi, Iām Rose, the proud new owner of Hoopla Kids!
Iāve taken over from my friend Kirsten, whom I first met through Playcentre. Over the years, Iāve admired her creativity and business skills, and Iāve been a happyĀ Hoopla Kids customer too! My kids have worn many of the colourful dresses, dungarees, tops, rainwear, and shoes. Itās always so hard to choose between the colours and prints - we want them all!
When the chance came to buy Kirstenās business, it felt like the perfect fit for me. I share her passion for living gently on the planet, supporting ethical businesses, and dressing my kids in clothing thatās comfortable, fun, and full of colour. A total win-win!

The Beginning...
Kirsten had the idea for Hoopla Kids during a 2012 backpacking trip through Scandinavia with her husband and baby daughter. After discovering the vibrant, organic designs of DUNS Sweden and other brands, Kirsten was inspired to share them with Kiwi families.
Over more than a decade, Kirsten built Hoopla Kids into a thriving business, bringing together a wide range of brands from around the world. She also created the Re-loved programme and Fix-It Kits - both inspired by her commitment to slow fashion and helping families get more life out of their clothes.
